For Andrew’s birthday I decided I wanted to make a cake with the fun little ombre effect that seems to be popping up all over the place lately.I looked and looked for an online tutorial, but fell short of something … Continue reading →
Andrew’s not so much into birthdays…unlike me where there is a week long celebration filled with cupcakes, candles, and way too much playing of the “birthday card” game. He doesn’t get excited over streamers, and never mentions any birthday wishes.
I guess to me a birthday has to have some kind of specialness (can that be a word?) to it, otherwise who wants to get another year older? It always surprises me then when his birthday requests always includes a low-key agenda and something to do with sweats. I have to admit that does sound pretty good…maybe he is on to something here.
So today he trotted of to work, birthday donuts in hand, and I had my class sing the best rendition of “happy birthday” they could muster up this morning…and I’m pretty sure it was the topic of the morning. Maybe even at Andrew’s work too. :)
So happy birthday to my low-key lover. Tonight we’ll celebrate it your way with a dinner at home, in our sweats, followed by the cake I baked for you…all afternoon…right after I force you to take a couple birthday pics.
I have gotten quite a few emails recently inquiring about the makeup I wore for our June wedding (what brands were used, where I got it done, who did it, etc.). Truth is-I did it myself and since I had so many questions wanting to know more details, I thought I would share it with all of you right here!
1- Urban Decay Naked palette
The perfect neutral palette. Perfect for everyday or day to night, this is a staple for me.
2- Fluffy blending brush
You can get these for pretty reasonable at places such as target by Sonia Kashuk. Seriously the best tool ever for eyes. Blend, blend, blend!
3- Maybelline Falsies mascara
Waterproof of course! I love great makeup, but this drugstore find has been my favorite.
4- Urban Decay 24/7 liner
I hate it when my eyeliner wears off during the day. 24/7 is the first liner that goes on super silky and stays put. Another everyday must have.
5- Tarte foundation and foundation brush
This brush has changed foundation for me. Forget your fingers. For a smooth flawless face, this is this brush is it!
6- Benefit “that gal” primer
Not only does this primer make your makeup last, it’s a shimmery pinky color which gives off a glow beneath the foundation.
7- Nars Orgasm blush
8- Stila lip gloss
I actually prefer BE Buxom over this stuff, but it looks great over the Stila stain.
9- Stila lip stain in Yumberry
This is the first stain I have tried that stays. This color is perfect for subtle pink lip.
10- Ardell false lashes
These little lashes have a small price tag, but a big impact. I love that I can get multiple uses out of them too!
Now that the days are getting longer, and our countdown to moving day is getting shorter, I am getting more and more anxious to start our re-design. Color, pattern, and texture are all on my must have list for our new living space!
Here is what I’m thinking…
Now the trick will be to find all these lovely pieces…
